Billy Bob Thornton is welcomed back to Texas from his 2006 Friday Nights. The feel is Yellowstone and this is welcome, series with a bit of reality versus superheroes and fantasy. Set in the Permian Basin, great cast so far!
Interesting people and plots
Us oilfield kids shake our heads at the inaccuracies of country life and explosions/blowouts. The technical glitches in the first three episodes are embarrassing and their technical advisor screwed up the blowout scene. An old stuck valve, a 24 inch pipe wrench (applied backwards and hammered in near the top?
Needs torque, no cheater pipe tested first?
100% wrong. No hammer allowed unless it’s a brass hammer (ie no sparks). No experienced oilfield crew would ever do anything like that.
Just ridiculous, Hollywood, I’ll take the story!
A chaotic technical director is seen as a “Landman” trying to stop an explosion (I’ve never seen a Landman on the spot) Expert and again puts the wrench in backwards and hits his finger?
